Always take good care of your heart

“SIX out of 10 deaths in the Philippines today are lifestyle related,” reported Cristina Dablo, MD, of the Department of Health at the recent media forum of the Philippine Heart Association Inc. (PHA). Dablo stated a warning that cardiovascular disease is still the number one killer disease in the country today. Efren Vicaldo, MD, president of the PHA, expounded on the fact that technological gadgets like cell phones and remote control have made a generation of Filipinos walk less and less thus missing the healthy benefits of constant physical mobility. Stating statistics, Vicaldo said that 60.1 percent of Filipinos today are sedentary.
