SC: No audit for animal advocate
|
|
THE Supreme Court (SC) enjoined the Commission on Audit (COA) from
investigating and auditing the financial affairs of a group
dedicated to the prevention of the cruelty to animals.
In an en banc decision written by Associate
Justice Alicia Austria-Martinez, the Court declared that the
Philippine Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA)
is a private domestic corporation subject only to the jurisdiction
of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
