Surfing makes waves, promotes tourism |
|
"SURFING, more than any other sport,
represents such a pure form of being connected.
Waveriding is a unique and powerful experience that you can’t help
but appreciate it and enjoy it as much as you possibly can,” says
Freddy Gonzalez."
The avid boardsports enthusiast of Filipino
descent learned to surf in the late nineties but has come a long way
since then. At 29 years old, he is president of Aloha Boardsports
Inc. and spearheads a pioneering tourism initiative called Onboard
Philippines that aims to promote the country through
surfing—allowing local beach-breaks and surf-spots to shine
through the eyes of the people who he knows appreciate them the
most: the Aloha Boardsports Surf Team.
