DPWH fast tracks road projects in Basilan

Agency earmarks P750 million for infrastructure in Abu Sayyaf-infested island province

ON orders of President Gloria Arroyo, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has earmarked P750 million for the construction and rehabilitation of road projects in the Abu Sayyaf-infested areas of Basilan.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane said Thursday that the road projects are among the priority concern of President Arroyo to win the hearts and minds of the people and achieve peace and development in the area.
