Guba eliminates Chia
|
|
UNRANKED Filipina Martina Guba hacked-out a
stunning 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 upset win over top seed Boey Adelle Chia of
Malaysia on Tuesday to reach the semifinal round of the Agra Asian
Tennis Federation U-14 Series at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
The 13-year-old Guba overcame a slow start and
showed a well-calculated forehand to take the second and third set
en route to ousting the No. 1 rated Chia and meeting compatriot
Shannine Olivarez in the round-of four of the girls division.
