Joint Sports Stakeholders Summit on October 25

A gathering of giants. This may well describes the Joint Sports Stakeholders’ Summit the Philippine sports Commission will be hosting October 25 at the Bayview Park Plaza.

PSC Chairman Butch Ramirez said the one-day affair is his agency’s one bold attempt to map out a short-term sports development plan for 2008-2010 as prescribed by Republic Act 6847, the law that created the PSAC and the recent Executive Order 651 signed by President Gloria Arroyo last month.

EO 651 is aimed at strengthening the PSC’s grassroot development program geared toward identifying and developing athletes that will represent the country in future international competitions as the Olympics, World Championships, Asia Games, continental championships and Southeast Asian Games.

The event will seek to define the roles played by the different government and private agencies involved in building a strong and healthy citizenry to which sports forms an integral part.
