Another suspect in the killing of
seven-year-old Geraldine Palma was arrested by police in San Jose
del Monte, Bulacan, Thursday morning. Joey Igos was arrested by
barangay watchmen and operatives of the Manila Police District’s
Homicide Division, headed by Chief Insp. Alejandro Yanquiling, in
Barangay Minuyan, San Jose del Monte.
Residents recognized Igos after
his artist’s sketch was broadcasted on television Wednesday
evening.
Palma was found strangled and
stuffed in a suitcase floating in the breakwaters at the Manila
International Container Terminal on August 16.
Igos is the fifth suspect to fall
into the hands of police for the death of Palma.
Another suspect Renato Bohol
surrendered to barangay officials and the Philippine Army Civil
Military Operations Battalion in Tondo, Thursday morning.
Bohol was presented to Vice-Mayor
Isko Moreno of Manila before being turned over to the custody of Sr.
Supt. Danilo Abarsoza, MPD officer in charge.
Several other persons have been
arrested for Palma’s death. These include Domingo Agnote, 23, of
Dagat-dagatan, Caloocan City; and Ramil Dioreco, 26, of Sitio San
Isidro, Pag-asa, Quezon City.
The first one arrested for the
crime was a Raffy Nepa, 23, of Purok 3, Isla Puting Bato. He,
however, was freed pending further investigation.
