Transportation and Communications Secretary Leandro Mendoza on
Thursday said that Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. discussed the
proposal of his son Jose “Joey” de Venecia 3rd, for the national
broadband network in a meeting at the Speaker’s home early this
year.
“Actually, the son was
introduced to me by the father,” Mendoza told a Senate hearing on
the broadband deal, referring to Joey de Venecia, who is a major
stockholder of Amsterdam Holdings Inc. (AHI).
