Retail therapy redefined at TriNoma

THE dapper general manager of Ayala Land’s latest retail pride and joy, Javier Hernandez, makes the confident claim that “TriNoma will redefine quality time and make sure that every moment counts.”

But, hey people, let’s come to grips with the name first because at the very mention of “TriNoma” you immediately feel you need to consult a medical dictionary to find out what sort of ailment it might be. But we guess it would be the perfect remedy for anyone in search of retail therapy!

Actually the newest premiere shopping destination of Ayala Malls in Northern Manila is, as Hernandez helpfully explained, “a perfect triangle,” hence the name TriNoma—meaning “triangle north of Manila,” sitting imposingly at the corner of North Avenue, Mindanao Avenue and EDSA.

We had a tour of the establishment set in one leisurely hectare and oozing tasty elegance and ritzy style (not to mention a Zen-like tranquility in some parts). And just when you thought that Ayala Malls had stretched the shopping experience as far as it could go elsewhere in town, it comes up trumps with this place which seamlessly blends design and comfort and provides every shopoholic with their very own comfort zone.

Linked directly to the North Avenue Station of the MRT, several entry points lead into an incomparable P3.5-billion urban hub for shopping, dining and entertainment (one THX Cinema and six all-digital cinemas) and is another Manila project of US architectural and design company Callison which was also behind the award wining Greenbelt malling complex in Makati City.

Needlessly to say, GM Hernandez is exultant over his new retail baby: “TriNoma is a journey inspired by the daily adventure of every person walking through its doors. Its architectural design is a fusion of established and modern concepts, making it an exciting destination any day of the week”.

You can meet with friends on Level 2, at the hip and upbeat Teen and Sports Zones, where trendy brands mix with graffiti art decorated hangout areas. Health buffs will likewise be delighted to find so many fitness options clustered together in such close proximity.

A sleek, futuristic space awaits gadget buffs and techies in their very own IT Zone showcasing the latest in software and technology.

Also on Level 2, gals and guys can bond and shop (and giggle and gossip) amidst a selection of foreign brands synonymous with classic style—with Stores Specialists Inc.’s phenomenally successful Spanish fashion outfit Zara having pride of place.

Level 3 brings the family closer together while giving everyone their own personal space with the Home, Children’s and Wellness Zones.

Nesting individuals can browse for furniture, interior design options and home accessories in the chic Home Zone in laid-back surroundings.

And parents need not shop and browse too far from their energetic kids, as the nearby Children’s Zone is a burst of color housing new and popular children’s brands all playfully addressing education and fun.

If you’re stressed from a day at work, welcome to the Wellness Zone, TriNoma’s oasis of serenity. Nestled away from the other zones to ensure privacy and to maximize comfort, this Zone boasts luxurious spa amenities where even the most harassed urbanite is sure to ease and unwind.

TriNoma also brings together two retail giants, Landmark and Crossings with the former being TriNoma’s major anchor. Its supermarket and food court recently opened with the two-level department store expected to open soon. TriNoma is Landmark’s second home (it has been operating in Makati for 18 years) and is the mall’s EDSA face.
