Guilty beyond reasonable doubt

Leyte lawmaker may face 
18-year jail term for graft

THE Sandiganbayan 5th Division on Friday convicted Leyte Fourth District Rep. Eufrocino M. Codilla Sr. for two counts of violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Antigraft and Corrupt Practices Act that was committed when he was mayor of Ormoc City in 1993 and 1994.

In the decision of the Antigraft Court, written by Associate Justice Teresita Diaz-Baldos, it sentenced the solon to 18 years imprisonment with perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
