PHILIPPINE Cup finalists Sta. Lucia Realtors and Purefoods TJ Giants
open their accounts Wednesday in the 2008 PBA Fiesta Cup at the
Araneta Coliseum.
The Realtors, gunning for back-to-back
championships, meet the Alaska Aces at 4:50 p.m. while the Giants
collide with sister team Magnolia Beverage Masters at 7:20 p.m.
Wesley Wilson, a 6’10 center-forward from
Georgetown University in New York, will reinforce the Realtors while
the Aces will parade Randy Holcomb, a 6’8’ forward from the San
Diego State University in California.
“It’s going to be a very interesting
match-up between our respective imports. I hope we could do well
with Wesley Wilson,” said Sta. Lucia coach Boyet Fernandez.
On the other hand, coach Ryan Gregorio’s
Giants will show off the fancied Darius Rice, a 6’10”
center-forward from University of Miami.
Rice is said to be the most impressive import in
tune-up games. But he is expected to draw tough match up against
veteran import Jamiel Watkins, a former import of Shell, who will
lead the Beverage Masters.
