THE Bureau of Immigration on Friday evening deported two Jordanian
terror suspects who were allegedly behind a plot to bomb the US and
several Western embassies in Manila, and to assassinate the
President.
Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan named
the two Jordanians terror suspects as Khalil Kh Al-Ali and Walid Abu
Aisheh.
“They were also placed in our immigration
blacklist, hence they are now banned from re-entering the
Philippines for being undesirable aliens,” Libanan said in a
statement.
The commissioner said the Jordanians that
boarded a Philippine Airlines flight to Bangkok en route to Amman,
Jordan, were expelled pursuant to an order issued by the bureau’s
Board of Commissioners last March 13.
Immigration Associate Commissioner Roy Almoro
said Al-Ali was also ordered deported for working in the country
without a permit, while Abu Aisheh was found to be an overstaying
and undocumented alien.
The Jordanians were arrested separately by army
and police operatives in Manila and Pasay City last February 27,
based on the strength of a mission order issued by the bureau.
Police and military officials said the two,
based on intelligence reports, were allegedly involved in a plot to
bomb the embassies of US, UK, Australia and Israel in Manila.
Top police officials also claimed that the
suspects were also planning to assassinate high-ranking government
officials, which include President Gloria Arroyo.
