More road projects make Canyon Ranch idyllic for suburban living

DID you know that the average Filipino will spend six years of his life in traffic? This is especially true for urban professionals who are living in the suburbs and experience the daily ordeal of long commutes to the city.

But traffic is expected to ease out soon after the government finishes most of its road repairs and expansion projects, especially in the CALABARZON area (or the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon)—the center of rapid industrialization and property boom.

The expansion of major road links to the south is part of the government’s P96.688 billion initiative to finish 21 priority projects across various key parts of the country in 2010.

In the CALABARZON or Region IV-A, the much-anticipated road improvements include the expansion of the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway or the Coastal Road—a P6.263-billion project that will extend Coastal Road from Zapote in Alabang to Kawit in Cavite. There is also the P4.1-billion Metro Manila Skyway Extension project from Bicutan to Alabang.

Another road development project is the P8.915-billion Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Extension Project that will extend SLEX to the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) expressway in Batangas.

The rehabilitation, upgrading, and reinforcing of the six-lane Alabang viaduct will not only decongest the city but also give commuters safer and more convenient trips to and from Cavite.

The travel conveniences these road developments will bring would make the south one of the most ideal residential locations for thousands of Filipino families that have begun to realize the joys and benefits of suburban living.

Open house today at Canyon Ranch

With the south getting more and more accessible from the city, southern dwellers are in for the best of both the idyllic suburban life and urban conveniences at Canyon Ranch, as it is only 25 minutes away from Makati, 10 minutes from Alabang and 5 minutes from the Carmona exit of South Luzon Expressway.

One of the fastest-selling residential communities in the south, Canyon Ranch has only 25 homes left to sell out this summer season. The 17-hectare master planned development offers a wide array of living options patterned after the most vibrant cities in California—Atherton, Berkeley, Calistoga, Delano, Fremont, Irvine, Malibu, Napa Valley and Stanford.

A Filipino fiesta-themed open house will start at 9 am today, April 6, at the community’s view deck and picnic grounds, located within the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.

Five California ranch-style homes are still available in Phase 1 of the 17-hectare master planned development, while there are 20 more units in Phase 2 that also offer The Casitas—the first fully-fitted, fully-furnished and fully-serviced homes in Asia.

Following the completion of 73 homes at Canyon Ranch in February, Century Communities has scheduled the construction of 558 more residences for 2008 and expects to complete 353 of them by the end of the year. At present, 42 homes have been turned over, 35 of which are currently occupied by homeowners.

While construction work is in full swing at Canyon Ranch, Managing Director Marco R. Antonio also revealed a bonus addition to the community’s amenities. “We are pleased to announce that we are adding a chapel onto a scenic spot of the development,” he said.

The chapel will be built on a hill next to the Village Center, or the community’s retail and commercial area.

On the early second quarter of the year, construction will begin on The Casitas, as well as the Clubhouse, swimming pool and Village Center.

“With its exceptional terrain, cool climate and idyllic location, Canyon Ranch offers the best value for money to those who aspire for an exceptional suburban lifestyle,” Antonio said.

Canyon Ranch is the latest horizontal development of Century Properties, the real estate marketing, development and property management firm behind such projects as the Essensa East Forbes in Fort Bonifacio, Soho Central in Mandaluyong and the fully-fitted, fully-furnished condos South of Market and Grand Soho Makati.
