of its operation during a power outage Friday morning.
Jinky Jorgio, LRTA media relations officer,
estimated that revenue losses from one-hour interruption of
operations amounted to P414,683 for LRT Line 1 (Caloocan to Baclaran)
and P378,000 for LRT Line 2 (Santolan to Recto).
LRT 1 run stopped at 8:53 a.m. and resumed at
10:06 a.m. ,while LRT 2 operations stopped at 8:50 a.m. and returned
to normal at 10:45 a.m.
Jorgio said some 39,283 passengers were affected
by the operation stoppage. Of the total, 29,283 were taking the LRT
1 Baclaran-Monumento route and vice versa.
The remaining 10,000 were passengers of the LRT
2 Recto-Santolan route and vice versa.
Last year, LRT Line 1 gross revenue grew to P1.7
billion from P1.59 billion in 2006. Passenger traffic, on the other
hand, went up to 119.12 million last year from 111.08 million a year

traffic was higher at 52.93 million last year than the 47.58 million
