More fetuses being found in Manila

By Ruben D. Manahan IV, Reporter

SINCE April 1, the Manila Police District (MPD)-Homicide Section has received six reports of fetuses found, all in a span of 11 days, and found near depressed areas.

Last April 1, a male fetus 7 to 8 months old was found inside a comfort room inside Jollibee-Tayuman corner Juan Luna, at about 8:45 a.m.

On April 2, a male fetus around 6 to 7 months old, was found floating on Estero de Vitas, Rodriguez St., Balut, Tondo at around 7:30 a.m.

Six days after, another 6 to 7 month old male fetus was found in a plastic box placed inside a flower pot in front of Palacio del Gobernador in Intramuros.

Another unborn was found at the seashore of Gate 54, Parola Compound, Binondo at about 4:00 p.m. on April 9.

The latest incident involved two female fetuses. One was found along Earnshaw, corner Cavite Street in Gagalangin, Tondo, and was about 7 to 8 months old. The other was found at T. Alonzo St. near Arranque Market in Sta. Cruz, and was assumed to be around 3 to 4 months. It was wrapped in a striped plastic bag.

In an interview, MPD Director Roberto Rosales said that the fetuses found might have been the result of unwanted pregnancies.
