JASON CASTRO scored 15 of his game-high 25 points as Harbour Centre
clobbered Nokia-RP Youth, 103-64, for its ninth straight win in the
PBL Lipovitan Amino Sports Cup on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
It was Batang Pier’s longest streak since
winning their first six games in the last conference. They also
moved to within a win of clinching the first semis berth.
In the second game, Noosa Shoes exploded for 27
points in the final period to score an 80-73 win over slumping
Pharex .
Noy Javier shone brightest for the Shoe Stars of
Dioceldo Sy by knocking in 11 points in the fourth period. He
finished with 24 points to power the Shoe Stars to their fifth win
in six starts to tie idle Burger King and their victims.
The Medics appeared headed to ending a
three-game losing run after taking a 62-53 lead at the end of the
third quarter. But Javier suddenly got back into scoring mode to
lead the team’s blistering assault.
