Cuerpo ends protest; reinstatement follows

Sec. Ermita signed an order allowing Cuerpo to serve as mayor of the Rizal town while his case is pending

RODRIGUEZ, Rizal: After almost a month of being holed up in his office at the municipal hall, Mayor Pedro Cuerpo left early Friday morning, reportedly sneaking out to attend a hearing at the Sandaganbayan in Quezon City.

The suspended mayor was due for arraignment in two criminal cases before the Sandiganbayan; one for illegal demolition and another for his refusal to process bidding permits.
