SIX teams from Indonesia will compete in the 2008 National Open
Men’s and Women’s Softball Championships from May 31 to June 6
in Lipa City.
The foreign teams will be strutting their wares
against 12 local campaigners in the men’s category and 10 in the
women’s play.
Heading the local campaign will be defending
champion Cebu, which will be joined by teams from Zamboanga City,
Marikina, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Rizal
Technological University, Taguig City, Laguna, Rizal Province, host
Lipa, UAAP champion University of the Philippines, Adamson
University and La Salle.
Team Manila head coach Filomeno “Boy” Codiñera
and former Manila Charter Little League president Robert Evangelista,
said that the Charter will be fielding in two teams.
Members of the RP Blu Boys and Blu Girls will be
distributed at three each among the competing local teams.
