JPEPA set to clear Senate

Report suggests ‘conditional’ OK of agreement

The Senate Committees on Foreign Relations and on Trade and Industry submitted Monday a joint report recommending the Senate’s conditional concurrence on the ratification of the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA).

Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago, chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations, appealed to members of the two committees to sign the joint committee report so she could sponsor it and debates could start next Monday.
