President Arroyo will not also stand in the way of
initiatives from the Senate for Charter change

Malacañang said it is surprised by the sudden
turn-around of many senators who now openly support Charter change
through a constituent assembly.
Nonetheless, President Gloria Arroyo will not
block efforts emanating from the Senate to initiate amendment of the
Constitution, a palace official said Friday.
