The Philippine Embassy in Vienna reported to the Department of
Foreign Affairs that under a special arrangement between the
governments of Belgium and Slovenia, Filipinos wishing to visit
Slovenia may apply for visa through the Belgian Embassy in Manila.
As Slovenia’s representative, the Belgian
Embassy has been entrusted with full authority to interview
applicants, demand documentation and approve visas.
Being a bilateral arrangement, applicants will
have to satisfy both the Belgian Embassy’s basic requirements for
a visa application (passport, handling fee, visa application form,
pictures etc.), on top of those required by the Slovene Government.
If the application is rejected by the Belgian
Embassy, the Filipino applicant will have to apply through the
Slovenian Embassy in Beijing.
Only Slovenian Embassies and Consulates are
authorized to issue a Slovene national visa “D” (visa for aliens
who intend to obtain a residence permit in Slovenia to reunite with
family).
Information and particulars on the procedures
and requirements are found on the following websites: Embassy of
Belgium in Manila, http:www.diplomatie.be Manila and Ministry of
Slovenia, www.mzz.gov.si or via Tel. No. +386-01-478-2305.
Holders of Philippine diplomatic and official
passports may enter Slovenia without a visa, and Filipinos already
holding valid Schengen visas may visit Slovenia, a Schengen member
since December 21, 2007.
