The upbeat economic outlook is spilling over to
various business sectors, foremost of which is the construction
industry. Proof of this is the construction of the eight-story PPA
(Philippine Ports Authority) Administration Building along
Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila.
F.F. Cruz designed and constructed
the office building, including the desks, panels and dividers,
intercom, boardroom, audio-visual and microphone system. Practically
everything, even the office furniture, was designed and furnished to
suit office comfort and requirements. This design, build and furnish
scheme is a first in the construction business. Its adoption brings
more savings on the part of government, which commissioned its construction,
since all designs fit specifications and the various elements needed
for a smooth-running workplace, are all there. Savings, in the form
of money, effort and time, are seen.
These, in turn, can be funneled
back to the company to be used in improving day-to-day operations
and employee benefits.
