PUERTO PRINCESA: National Capital Region stamped its class over
Calabarzon, 70-55, in the boys’ secondary basketball final at the
Puerto Princesa Coliseum Saturday to cap its successful campaign in
the Palarong Pambansa.
The NCR bets have been assured of keeping the
secondary title as early as Friday when they garnered 375 points
from topping the swimming competition and pocketing 10 golds in
athletics.
The also won the girls’ secondary volleyball
and softball and took runnerup honors in both boys’ volleyball and
football.
Calabarzon finished second with 205.6 points
followed by Western Visayas (213), Central Visayas (126.17), Central
Luzon (79) and Davao (73.5).
NCR also retained the elementary division title
with 263 points.
Calabarzon was second with 226.5 points followed
by Western Visayas (220), Central Visayas (140) and Central Luzon
(53.5).
A total of 11 new records, seven in swimming and
four in athletics, were established in the Palaro which was hosted
by Palawan for the first time.
