NATIONAL Students Basketball Championships senior division winner
Southwestern University defeated Jimei University, 69-56, in a
goodwill game last week at the Jimei Sports Center in China.
A day before, the Cebu-based Cobras lost their
first match against Xiamen Selection, 75-82, at the Xiamen City
Sports Complex.
Coach Alejandrito Miego, a former professional
player, and team manager Ryan Aznar said the Cobras learned a lot
from the rare opportunity of playing against Chinese teams.
Aznar also thanked Basketball Association of the
Philippines (BAP) President Prospero Pichay for funding the RP
delegation, which also included NSBC junior division champion
Benedictine International School and BAP Regional Director Lorenzo
Sy of Cebu City.
