TeleTech clinches second PEZA
'Outstanding Employer' award

TeleTech, the country's largest business process outsourcing firm, has bagged the Philippine Economic Zone Authority's "Outstanding Employer" of the year award for the second year in a row.

The award is given to a locator who generates the most number of jobs, holds high regards for the welfare of workers and continually maintains harmony between labor and management. It is given based on three major criteria: size and stability of the company, commitment to the welfare of employees, and contribution to the Philippines.

In terms of size, TeleTech is now the country's largest BPO company, with an employee base of more than 16,000 - and counting - spread across 12 delivery sites nationwide.

"Beyond the size, our singular focus on employee welfare - exemplified by our world-class facilities, fun working environment, and exceptional career development program - distinguishes TeleTech from the rest," Maulik Parekh, TeleTech's general manager and senior vice president for Asia, says.

Through its upGRADe program, TeleTech gives its employees a chance to get MBA degrees even as they work and earn for their families. The company's Leadership Excellence and Achievement Program (LEAP), on the other hand, equips employees with leadership and management skills necessary for their journey up the BPO ladder.

"We want TeleTech to be a launch pad for our employees to realize their professional and financial dreams. The best part about working in TeleTech is the fact that if you have a desire to excel and a will to succeed, you could climb up the corporate ladder very quickly," Parekh says.

The company also cares enough for its employees that instead of making them leave their homes to pursue their careers, TeleTech brings the jobs to them, establishing delivery centers in areas where few BPO companies dare to go. In fact, nine of its 12 existing delivery centers are located outside Metro Manila.

Early this year, TeleTech also won the Regional Outsourcing and Offshoring (O&O) Excellence Award presented by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The award was given to the company for its immense contribution in the development of "next wave" cities.

Apart from providing jobs to thousands of Filipinos nationwide, TeleTech is also a big contributor to the Philippine economy along with its promotion of the country as the BPO destination of choice.

Parekh says TeleTech will continue to work hand in hand with the government in promoting the country as the next frontier of growth in the BPO sector, as well as in ensuring that the Philippines will continue to churn out the best and the brightest BPO personnel in the world.
