Eight finalists have emerged for eBay.ph Fashion Challenge 2008

Finalists of the highly anticipated eBay.ph Fashion Challenge 2008 have emerged at last. To uncover the most trend-setting stylist-model duo from the University of the Philippines, eBay launched its first fashion contest in conjunction with the school's centennial celebration.

Close to a hundred entries from various colleges such as Mass Communications, Arts and Sciences and Home Economics participated in the contest. The eight shortlisted teams include Rosan Reodica and Tracy Dizon, Glynel Lectura and Yanie Medina, Katherine Venzon and Jeanne Jampac, Chinette Marasigan and TJ Estrada, Dominique Quilicot and Lizette Lanuzo, Sachelle Sioson and Jann Mejia, Nicole Alcala and Rikka Sotto and lastly, Jemimah Ferrer and Nicolle Castillo.

In the second phase of the contest, finalists are given PHP 5,000 G-Cash credits to shop for clothing and accessories on eBay.ph, according to allocated fashion themes. On 18th August, an interactive session with the finalists was conducted by eBay.ph style ambassador Jolina Magdangal, eBay Education Specialists as well as a trainer from GCash to guide these aspiring fashion icons to complete their tasks for the contest.

From 11th to 17th September, Pinoys can register as eBay.ph members and be part of the excitement by logging on to the contest microsite atwww.ebay.ph/fashionchallenge2008, and cast their votes for their favourite team.

Come 18th September, the finalists will take to the catwalk wearing their eBay purchased outfits at Fiamma Bar on 32 Jupiter Street, Makati. Look out for a mini-concert by Jolina and fun games hosted by Robi Joseph from 99.5 Hit FM. Attractive cash prizes sponsored by eBay and Shu Uemura products worth more than PHP 100,000 await the top three winning teams.

"Pinoy students are very Internet savvy, and we believe that with this contest, students will be able to learn how to conduct their online shopping safely, and at the same time find great fashion bargains on Philippines' top online shopping destination" says Oliver Rippel, Director at eBay. "Together with the eBay.ph community, we will embark on a search for a team that's not just book smart, but ultra fashion savvy too".
