It’s already a high-definition world, no doubt. What, with the
advent of Blu-ray, HDTV broadcasting and high-definition LCD
monitors, with the promise of richer, brighter, sharper and clearer
picture, watching full-length movies and home-made videos has never
been the same.
Adding to today’s insatiable appetite for
anything high-definition is Sanyo’s latest gadget for the high-def
hungry techies with the introduction of the all new Xacti HD1000.
Measuring at a mere 90 x 112.6 x 54.5 mm and weighing at only 268
grams, the HD1000 is designed for one-hand shooting as it fits
snugly in your hand. The high-definition feature will deliver
playback on a widescreen HDTV to remain crisp and crystal clear.
“We have a product we know people would
want,” said Joseph Sanchez, product manager, Sales and Marketing
Department, Sanyo Philippines, in a press briefing at the SolidHouse
Building in Makati City. “Sanyo Xacti video cameras remain to be a
unique product and we are confident our new models, particularly the
Xacti HD100 with all its high-quality features, will complement the
needs of the high-definition market.”
The Xacti HD1000 is not just a video camera, but
a 4-megapixel still photo digital camera as well. In terms of video
capture, high-definition movies are recorded in high-compression
MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 for high quality and longer recording times. This
video format also makes smaller video files easier to work with. And
because the HD1000 is flash memory-based, an 8GB SD card can provide
up to one hour of video recording.
The HD1000 is also capable of handling a variety
of external accessories which include screw-type lense, such as
wide, teleport and fish-eye conversion lenses. This alone makes the
HD1000 a true flexible consumer digital videocam that could also
attract professional users.
Other Sanyo Xacti video cameras include: The
Xacti CA65 with highly sensitive 6.37-megapixel primary color CCD, a
great feature for low-light video capture; the Xacti CA8, a
waterproof dual-function still-and -video digital camera; and the
fashionable Xacti CG9, with new Shake-control mechanism to help
capture crisp still images at a resolution of 9.1-megapixels.
For the point and shoot digital camera line,
Sanyo also announced the T850, a compact 8.1 megapixel digital still
camera that features a 2.8 inch color TFT-LCD and a 15x zoom; and
the E1000, a l0-megapixel lightweight high-performance digicam for
everyday use. Both have image stabilization as well as video
recording capabilities.
