7 civilians die in rebel raids

Govt rules out sending more troops to Mindanao

ZAMBOANGA CITY: At least seven civilians were killed and nine others wounded in a series of attacks by suspected separatist rebels from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in southern Philippines, officials said on Christmas Day.

A report from the Agence France-Presse put at 10 the number of civilians killed in the raids on the provinces of Shariff Kabunsuan, Sultan Kudarat and North Cotabato in Mindanao.
