RP concerned’ about Taiwan
prexy’s Spratlys trip–DFA

The Philippines on Saturday expressed alarm over a trip made by Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian to the disputed Spratly Islands and warned it could affect relative peace in the area.

The Foreign Affairs Secretary, Alberto Romulo, said in a statement that it was “lamentable” the president had gone ahead with his plan to land on Ligao Island.
