The Philippines on Saturday expressed alarm over a trip made by
Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian to the disputed Spratly Islands and
warned it could affect relative peace in the area.
The Foreign Affairs Secretary, Alberto Romulo,
said in a statement that it was “lamentable” the president had
gone ahead with his plan to land on Ligao Island.
THE Armed Forces (AFP) leadership on Saturday
said that there’s no need for the military to maintain a watch
list of personalities critical of government, including journalists.
Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. just might open himself
to the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA),
according to a report of the Philippine News Agency.
