Rape-slay suspects hunted

Police in Las Piñas City launched a manhunt on Sunday to arrest three men who allegedly raped and killed an 18-year-old woman.

The body of Jennifer Japson Aliwanay, a resident of Barangay Aldana in the city, was discovered inside an abandoned house along Curban Street at around 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Paul Diaz of the Las Piñas Police Criminal Investigation Division said the girl was last seen alive at around 1:30 a.m. when she bought a bottle of beer from a nearby store.

A certain Boy Istanari told investigators that he heard a loud scream past 3 a.m., which he said sounded like the voice of woman crying for help. He said he went back to sleep thinking that a couple was only quarreling.

Diaz said Istanari went to the abandoned house first thing in the morning and saw the victim’s naked and bloodied body. The cadaver had a huge wound in the head, probably hit with a blunt object.

The policeman ad-ded a pedicab driver reported that he saw the girl having a drinking spree with three unidentified men.
