The world’s most famous rodents take the spotlight
in the Year of the Rat
|
|
Legend has it that in ancient Chinese
civilization, Buddha invited all the animals of the world to a race
where the order of 12 champions would determine the sequence of the
Chinese calendar. On the day of the race, Cat forgot the time and
asked Rat for help. The sly and clever Rat gave Cat the wrong time
on purpose. He also hopped on the horn of Ox while crossing a wild
and raging river, then jumped over the bank to reach the finish line
to win the race. Cat never made it to the race and swore to get even
with Rat even if it took millennia to accomplish. This explains the
animosity between the two.

It’s Raymond
Gutierrez’s time to shine

It’s a done deal. Richard Gutierrez’s twin brother Raymond will
host the local version of American Idol (AI) which GMA network has
renamed Pinoy Idol. The change from the old title Philippine Idol
aims to dissociate the new show from ABC-5’s first take on the
world-famous contest.
