Fashion forward for Bamboo

By Johanna M. Sampan

Originality, creativity and artistry are few of the most often used words to describe the iconic band Bamboo as it continues to soar high in the world of music. And since the group certainly knows how to reinvent itself, the latest addition to the band are not new compositions, but the group’s own limited edition Bamboo Collection.

Produced by Penshoppe, this exclusive men’s line has the stamp of approval of the four members: Bamboo, Ira, Vic and Nathan. Called the B-Side collection, the new range offers fashion apparel such as tee shirts, polo, shorts, trousers, pants and accessories like caps and messenger bags. The group also has its own signature fragrance line now.

The latest collection was inspired by the vinyl album or cassette tape wherein the “A-side” often features the artist’s famous hits while the B-side contains the less popular songs that more often than not, are the personal favorites of the artist. This B-side collection is the other side of the band that shows their personal fashion taste.

“I prefer classic colors such as brown, white, gray and blue because I just want laid back and simple outfits. You wouldn’t see me wearing loud, shocking colors,” frontman Bamboo volunteers. He continues, “One thing that I really check when getting my clothes is the material. Comfort is everything since I have to feel good and light with the clothes I am wearing, especially when I am on stage.”

The new line boasts of exceptional designs such as pique polo tees with unique print designs that can be perfectly paired with slim fit jeans in medium wash shade. Also, the over dyed black Denimlab Rock fit jeans and funky crew neck tees got the attention of the media when the line was launched recently.

Bamboo’s music and fashion taste are harmonious with each other: simple yet profound.
