Kung Fu Kids to brighten up Binondo

The lovable cast of ABS-CBN’s hit series Kung Fu Kids is expected to add excitement as the Filipino-Chinese community in Binondo celebrates the first day of the Year of the Rat. The kids will participate in a special motorcade that will pass through the streets of Chinatown today.

The series, which premiered a week ago, has been climbing up the ratings chart and is expected to lord it over its timeslot for the next five months. Kung Fu Kids revolves around the exciting adventures of Lembot (played by boy wonder Jairus Aquino), a sickly boy who wants to learn Kung Fu to defend his younger sister and himself from the bullies, and to measure up to his father’s expectations. Unknowingly, in his desire to learn martial arts, he gets entangled in the middle of an ancient battle and soon, everyone that he holds dear is put in danger. So under the guidance of a Kung Fu master, he learns the basics of the art of Kung Fu and uses these in his many adventures.

Besides the parade, the kids will be presenting the show’s upcoming line of toys and merchandise, such as t-shirts, slippers, costumes, accessories and the very handy Kiseki Kung Fu Kids notebook.

Catch the Kung Fu Kids from 10 a.m. to 12 noon today in Chinatown and relive the days when Bruce Lee and Meng Fei were the big stars of the action flicks.
