TOBY’S Sports is extending its all-out support to the San Miguel
Corp.-Philippine Sportswriters Association Annual Awards (SMC-PSA)
Night on February 16 at the SM Mall of Asia.
On Tuesday, Toby’s Sports joined the list of
SMC-PSC Awards Night partners as presentor of the Tony Siddayao
Youth Excellence Awards, to be given to junior golfers Mia Legaspi
and Marcel Puyat and the Philippines’ Junior Wushu Team.
“Toby’s has long been a partner of
Philippine sports through its various commitments in badminton,
volleyball and basketball, among others,” said PSA President
Aldrin Cardona. “Its sponsorship of the Youth Excellence Awards is
another proof that Toby’s advocates sports excellence, especially
among the country’s young athletes.”
Puyat won the Mercedes Junior Golf Championship
at the tough par-72 Rose Garden Golf Course in Thailand, while
Legaspi ruled the 8 years-and-under division of the US Kids World
Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
On the other hand, the junior wushu artists
captured two gold, five silver and two bronze medals in the 4th
Asian Junior Wushu Championship in Yeongju, South Korea. Mary
Stepanie Agbay (taiji sword) and Henson John See (cudgel) led the
charge for the Philippines with their gold-medal triumphs.
