Jamming with the Fil-Ams

Fil-Am singers Kris Lawrence and Jay-R are showcasing their talents in a special show at the Teatrino in Greenhills tonight. The two will be performing with Karylle in a show titled “Souls in Love.”

“Kris and I have always preferred R&B that’s why in our show, we will have loads of easy listening tunes and wonderful duets with Karylle, “ volunteers Jay-R.

Kris adds, “ the challenege here is how to use music to tell a love story. And we are referring to a very extensive catalog of R&B and soul hits made popular in the 60s and 70s that still have strong recall to this day.”

Meanwhile, First Philippine Idol grand winner Mau Marcelo teams up with Gian Magdangal in a show billed “Love Sings” for tonight and tomorrow at the Trropezz Bar and Restaurant in Greenbelt 3. Florida-based singer-songwriter David Pomeranz is back in Manila to perform at the PICC Plenary Hall on the night of February 14 in a show titled “On This Day,” which is also one of his most recent hits.

“It’s not true that I live in Manila, but no doubt that the Philippines is my second home,” clarifies Pomeranz, who has been embraced by Filipinos since the late 90s, coming back year after year to sing his unforgettable love songs like “King and Queen of Hearts,” “Got To Believe In Magic” and “Born For You.”

Four months ago, Pomeranz performed in a special show on board the Star Cruise luxury liner that travels the Singapore-Phuket-Penang route. “I will always come back to the Philippines. I love your people!” he enthuses.

The Legendary Connie Francis
