SHOWCIRCUIT

Yamaha Evolution 2008 kicks off,
will tour Cebu and Davao

Yamaha Motor Phils. (YMPH)—recently revitalized as “brand new”—kicked off on February 7 the Metro Manila leg of its grand motorcycle event called “Yamaha Evolution 2008: Feel the Excitement.” With the Metro Manila event culminating on February 13, the show hits the road to SM City Cebu on March 6 to 12 before moving to SM City Davao on April 8 to 14. The event promises to be a much-awaited one among Yamaha fans and other motorcycle enthusiasts around the Philippines.

The event will showcase not only the latest Yamaha models like the Mio, Nouvo, Crypton and Sniper that are available in local dealerships but will also feature the latest technologies developed by Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. of Japan.

“There will be a lot of activities at the Yamaha Evolution 2008 to communicate the fun and the joy of riding motorcycles,” said YMPH Advertising Supervisor Ryan Jude Camus.

In the events, YMPH mounts a motor show showcasing Yamaha’s MotoGP racing machine, the YZR-M1 ridden by seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi.

“Yamaha has a major presence in the motorcycle grand prix circuit,” said Camus. “MotoGP is the apex of the world’s motorcycle racing and the YZR-M1, which is equipped with Yamaha’s advanced technology, has won numerous titles and races with ‘The Doctor’ Valentino Rossi. Show goers will see how the technology that Yamaha derives from its MotoGP experience trickles down to its production motorbikes,” he said.

Also on display are the YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 sport bikes, the MT-01 muscle bike and other interesting Yamaha motorcycles. YMPH will announce the arrival of custom bikes and the launching of a new model at the events.

For visitors with valid drivers’ licenses (with Restriction Code 1), YMPH has a test-riding course where motorcyclists can ride and experience Yamaha motorcycle models including the CVT-equipped automatic ones, which are currently the rave in the country and around Asean.
