Basketball is Brotherhood

In June of 2007, sports brand brand Adidas committed to work with Peace Players International (PPI) to launch the first PPI operation in New Orleans.  The partnership came about after both companies saw a glaring need for sporting opportunities and life-skills development after the devastation of hurricane Katrina.  This weekend, the Basketball is Brotherhood campaign will be launched all over the world in New Orleans, with NBA All-Stars Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard, Chauncey Billups and Antawn Jamison who will share their time with kids.

The All-Stars will provide advice and guidance for both on and off court topics as they get to know the young ball players on a personal level while playing the game they all love.  The NBA players, together with participants, former players, NBA business and media partners and guests, and volunteers will roll up their sleeves to participate in the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service.

The highlight of a new collection will be the official jerseys of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference uniforms of the 2008 NBA All-Star game inspired by the unique architecture of New Orleans . Available in the Philippines are the jerseys of KG for East and Kobe for West.  The back of the jerseys are silver for the East and gold for the West to represent the conference colors.

Here in the Philippines, look out for some of the hot All-Stars Weekend apparel including the Vintage Iron graphic tee that features the 2008 All Star Weekend dates and location, as well as the ‘iron-inspired’ look of this year’s All Star players.
