FOUR teenagers, including three minors, mauled to death a
13-year-old while seriously injuring the victim’s companion the
other night in Mandaluyong City.
The newly appointed Mandauyong City Police
chief, Supt. Carlos de Sagun, said that the 13-year-old victim from
Barangay Pleasant Hills, Mandaluyong City was declared dead on
arrival at the Mandaluyong Medical Center. His 17-year-old friend,
who was also mauled, was rushed to the same hospital and is
currently undergoing treatment.
One of the four suspects was an out-of-school
youth identified as 18-year-old Kenneth Dagohoy, a resident of
Barangay Highway Hills in Mandaluyong City. The three minors were
aged from 15 to 16 years old and are also residents of Mandaluyong
City.
According to police, the two victims were
walking along Nuebe de Pebrero Street at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday
when they came across the group of Dagohoy.
The group started hurling invectives and curses
against the two victims. Sensing danger, the two victims tried to
get away but were caught by the suspects who started mauling them.
One of the young suspects was carrying a knuckle brass, according to
the report.
The victims were rushed to the hospital after
they were left bloodied by the suspects.
Follow-up operations by the police led to the
immediate arrest of the suspects. The knuckle brass allegedly used
in the mauling was missing.
The suspects claimed it was the two victims who
hurled insults against them.
