GOLDEN Swan Paper Products Corp. has secured tax incentives and
other perks from the Board of Investments for the production of test
linerboard and corrugating medium using pure waste paper.
In its application for registration at the BOI,
the company said that it is infusing P100 million to set up a
linerboard and corrugating medium production plant by using 100
percent scrap and waste papers, which will be sourced locally.
Both products will be used as raw materials for
the production of corrugated carton boxes.
Further, the test liner linerboard will be used
as an outer layer of a corrugated board, while the corrugating
medium is a paperboard made from chemical and semi-chemical pulp or
waste paper that is then converted as a corrugated board by passing
through corrugating cylinders, the company said.
Corrugated fiberboard is a combination of
paperboards, usually two flat pieces of paper and one inner
intestined medium. This material is often used for making boxes for
shipping products, since it is more durable than regular boxes.
