The romantic Valentines weekend was given a jolt
as red roses and pink hearts gave way to seductive black. Of
course I’m referring to the Clear Black Parade which took place at
the Fort Open Field as throngs of lovebirds joined Piolo Pascual in
what had to be the biggest Valentines celebration in the country.
With helicopters hovering above and celebrating
couples partying below, Piolo wowed the crowd as a sexy black cupid,
of course clad in his trademark black angel wings so associated with
the all out Clear anti-dandruff shampoo campaign. Adding on
are university dance performances, fun booths, celebrity sightings,
as well as the sounds of Tribo Manila and international house
sensation Moony—the Black Parade was one bold and innovative
success.
Revolutionizing not only the 2008 Valentines
season, the campaign in general was a powerful way of influencing
the current style scene. Bringing back the attention to black
couture, closets are bound to reflect this bold fashion statement on
the runways very soon.
