NPA admits to ‘error’ in Davao killing

Spokesman said an investigation showed businessman did not merit death penalty

The New People’s Army (NPA) apologized Monday for the “flawed decision” of a lower-level NPA command to mete revolutionary justice against landlord-businessman Vicente Ferrazini of Davao City.

In an e-mail to The Manila Times, Rigoberto Sanchez, spokesman of the Merardo Arce Command -Southern Mindanao Regional Operations Command of the NPA, said that an investigation on the killing showed that Ferrazini did not merit the maximum penalty of death.
