Cebu is now ‘car smuggling capital’

Illegally imported luxury vehicles reportedly enter the country thru the ‘Queen City’

CEBU City: Following a House inquiry, the “Queen City of the South” has earned a new distinction—that of “car smuggling capital,” the primary entry point of illegally imported luxury vehicles in the country, reported Panay News.

As a result of the said inquiry, the local Customs immediately ordered an investigation of at least five offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO). A surprise inspection was conducted to determine whether the agency issued questionable papers to car smugglers.
