Peso close to hitting 40-to-a-dollar
on weak greenback

THE peso closed to an almost eight-year high due to the weakness of the dollar and large remittance inflows.

At the Philippine Dealing System, the local currency closed at 41.010 against the greenback on Friday from its closing price of 41.080 last Thursday.

From the airplane up there, Manila was an attractive sight with all the Christmas lights glowing, blinking, dancing. It was even brighter than Singapore because their Christmas lights were concentrated only along Orchard and Scotts Roads. We should declare a year-round Christmas celebration!
