Senator Richard Gordon said Saturday that the
nation should focus on electoral reforms before discussing potential
contenders for the presidency in 2010.
Senate Majority Leader Francis Pangilinan, on
the other hand, said that focus should be on who would be appointed
to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
COMMUNIST rebels attacked on Saturday a group of
soldiers providing route security to the convoy of Senator Edgardo
Angara in a remote village in Aurora province.
The Philippine government had frozen some more than P410 million,
roughly equivalent to $10 million of suspected funds in antimoney
laundering efforts last year, said the official Philippines News
