The business of art, according to Didi Dee
|
|
DIDI DEE is holding a Tibetan palm drum in one
hand while her eyes are set on some colorful ceramic teacups,
obviously oblivious to the flashes of the photographer who is taking
her pictures. “I use them for tea kung fu,” she says,
articulating the kind of personal tea ritual she follows every
morning. Dee is among the most respected art dealers in the country
today and also calls the shots for Hiraya Gallery, which is among
the oldest and most refutable commercial galleries in Manila. In her
loft above the gallery, which she calls her inner sanctum, Dee
shares her thoughts on art, spirituality and society with The Sunday
Times Magazine.
