STA. LUCIA REALTY guns for the second semis berth
against Air21 in the penultimate day of the double-round elimination
in the 2007 Smart-PBA Philippine Cup Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Realtors take on the Express
at 4:30 p.m. with the hope of joining Purefoods in the next round.
A loss by coach Boyet
Fernandez’s team will result to a possible three-way tie at second
among Alaska and Red Bull, if the Barakos win against the Giants on
Wednesday.
The scenario will be resolved via
the PBA quotient system with the top two teams playing in a
knockout playoff .
In case of three-way logjam, the
Realtors have the advantage because they have beaten Alaska
twice—94-88 on December 5 and 101-96 on December 19. Sta. Lucia
also split its two meetings with Red Bull in the two-round
elimination phase.
It may be a far-fetch possiblity
for the Air21 Express to spoil the Realtors outright semis bid as
Sta. Lucia massacred Air21, 115-80 in their first encounter on
November 7.
In the second game, Talk
‘N Text seeks a playoff for the third and last quarterfinal slot
against equally dangerous Barangay Ginebra at 6:50 p.m.
The Phone Pals only have to win
their last two matches to earn a playoff berth.
