Suspend EVAT on oil for 6 months–Roxas
|
|
Senator Mar Roxas urged the officials and allies
of Malacañang to stop questioning his motives or resorting to
name-calling, and instead consider the merits of his proposal to
suspend for six months of the 12-percent value-added tax (VAT) on
oil products.
Roxas was criticized of early campaigning for
2010 in proposing the suspension and eventual elimination of the VAT
on oil products. The administration had rejected the proposal,
saying it would result in the loss of P60 billion in revenues, and
the downgrading of the country’s credit standing.
