Govt sets 2-percent oil tariff cut in February

Reduction can result in the lowering of diesel prices by P1 per liter

Consumers can expect a reduction in diesel prices next month after world oil prices breached the government’s set trigger points for reducing import tariffs.

On the sidelines of a briefing at the National Press Club yesterday, Energy Secretary Angelo T. Reyes said that the government will be lowering its oil import tariff by 2 percent, which in turn will redound to a P1-per-liter reduction in diesel prices by February.
