widens |

President’s party looking to field its own 2010 bet
|
|
President Gloria Arroyo’s Kabalikat ng
Malayang Pilipino (Kampi) might field its own presidential candidate
in the 2010 elections, prompting the party to say this move will
lead to the collapse of the ruling coalition, Lakas-Christian Muslim
Democrats (Lakas).
Kampi is a member of that coalition.
Vice-President Noli de Castro is among those
being groomed to be the party’s standard-bearer, Raul Lambino,
spokesman for Lakas, said Friday.
