DIGITALLIFESTYLE

This week’s visual treat

ViewSonic 22” LCD model: VA2226W
****

What is it: A 22-inch high-quality LCD computer monitor.

Who’s it for: People ready to upgrade to an LCD monitor

but looking for the better and affordable model.

Wallet magnet: Fast 5ms video response; full 21.6 viewable widescreen; high 1680x1050 native resolution with 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio; stylish slim-bezel design; OptiSync digital/analog inputs expand connectivity; OnView controls for superior screen adjustability; Windows Vista certified

On second thought: None

What’s in the box: ViewSonic VA2226W LCD; vga and dvi cables; AC power cable; CD and manual.

Tech Times’ verdict: Style, features and price—more the reason to buy this ViewSonic model.

Samsung Slim Fit TV model: CT-21Z58MQ
****

What is it: The old-reliable CRT television with Samsung’s unique slim-fit aesthetics.

Who’s it for: People looking for a CRT television but conscious about space.

Wallet magnet: 30 percent thinner than the regular 22” CRT television; superior Samsung TV technologies (DNIeJr., signal and color optimizer, detail and contrast enhancers); direct DVD input; turbo sound effect; plug and play.

On second thought: Can they still make it any thinner?

What’s in the box: Samsung CT-21Z58MQ Slim-fit TV; external antenna; antenna adapter; wireless remote; manual and warranty.

Tech Times’ verdict: While LCD expands it market share, Samsung extends the life of the cathode ray tube in an affordable and slim television set that would perfectly fit the interiors of the space-concious.
